Biology teacher said Evolution takes just as much faith to believe in as God?

I’d like to hear just the Atheists’ view on this.

I personally don’t agree. There’s much more evidence for evolution than there is for a God. I’m an Atheist myself. So it bothers me that he’s teaching the whole class to believe in the Christian God rather than persue science. And they believe him. He’s always talking about how we didn’t come from nothing, so a God had to of made everything.

  • If you know more than a teacher why You are wasting you time in biological class.

According with Your statement the teacher is saying 50/50

it takes the same faith for both of the choices.

It means evolution is like a miracle happened.

    So,something happens to this reality.

You have to learn that you do not possess the true.

And actually You are an azz hole ignorant arrogant and close minded.

  • God created evolution.

  • God exists and I myself an evidence for the existence of God. There are too much thoughts behind each creation. Therefore believing that something had come without someone to create is a false belief. It cannot be included in the list of rational thoughts. Don’t think about Bible and also other religious books. They might have written by just human beings. I guess that there are eternal beings too. Both God and eternal beings must have started this creating job. They must have created many creatures one by one, one after another with some interval of time. Then at last they must have created an advanced creature human being. They have also created the spirits. Without spirits human beings are nothing. What science says about spirits? After my vast explanation, it seems it still remains as a mystery in the minds of scientists.

This is a short form of my research based on my personal experience. A human being is always living with a group of spirits which have joined one by one since birth. Between creatures (including human beings) and God there are millions of invisible elements. There are divisions too. We are just robots made of different materials (flesh, bones, nerves etc.,) created by scientist God or eternal beings to entertain God. Each of us have memories like computers have RAM. RAM chip may be considered as a mind of a human being, The fed things (data= knowledge=several spirits or invisible elements) are in contact with the mind since childhood. A brain is a media to connect spirits to a human mind. A mind is nothing but a computer’s mind. After the destruction of a computer completely you can’t get it anywhere. The same is the case with human beings. In fact, all stuff related to a human being lives with a human being in the form of spirits. Even thoughts are not our own. One after another the spirits think and we choose (accept) or reject the ideas (based on the knowledge we have possessed) which they transmit to our mind through our brain in the form of thoughts. If current (electricity) stopped the memory chip loses all data. This is with a computer. The same thing occurs to all of us. Computers are functioning by electric power but human bodies are functioning by natural power. We call this as soul. This soul is nothing but just an energy which is needed for the functionality of a body. If this is consumed the functionality ends. The spirits leave the body and go to different places. No one lives in the form of spirit or anything else after death. We are simply our bodies, the toys made for spirits for their games.

Reincarnation is a rare phenomenon which is not possible to all. To form a reincarnation all spirits which lived with a body must possess another person together. Then only he/she can feel same thing of the demised person. But this is not happening because the spirits never stay together to haunt or possess another. They go to different bodies. Rarely there might have been certain cases but I think it had changed after some time. Spirits during their life time live with many bodies (one after another). Their memories sometimes affects the person. This is natural. This is not enough to believe that there is rebirth. No one returns after death. A human’s life ends with a single body.

There is no hell or heaven for human beings. They are only for spirits. I guess that the heaven is just the sky and hell is the prison for spirits. Good spirits are free to go anywhere in the sky but bad spirits are put in prison for certain years. Their lifetime is limited. If what they (spirits) have said is true then they live approximately for 500 years. Spirits are separate elements. There is always a common fate which is always applicable to all creatures including human beings. That is, we are like other creatures except that we have an additional sense (sixth sense). This sense had changed only the living conditions of the human beings but not the fate. The fate is almost same to all creatures including human beings.

  • Evolution does take a huge leap to skip over how complex life started from nonliving matter. To willfully ignore a lapse in basic logic and cling to the rest of the teachings does require a degree of “faith” does it not?

    Just saying.

  • The truth is that when we talk about origins, whether we’re a Young Earth Creationists or an Evolutionist, we are citing historical science because we’re talking about past events that are simply not observable under observational scientific means today. In other words, we all start with a philosophical presupposition, and we interpret the evidence that we have in the present through, and according, to the worldview that we adhere to.

For example, I’m a Young Earth Creationist, I believe that God supernaturally created everything 6000 years ago, as recorded in the Bible. Because no one was there to witness the creation of man, except for God of course, this must be accepted by faith. The same thing applies to Macroevolution. You said that you’re an atheist, therefore you would interpret all the evidence that we have in the present through a Macroevolutiontionary worldview.

So yes, belief in Macroevolution does involve faith, just like belief in Young Earth Creationism involves faith.

  • It’s ludicrous. There is a massive amount of evidence for evolution and none at all for the existence of God.

  • No, it doesn’t. We’ve got proof of evolution. Two proofs, in fact.

The first was published in the 19th century by Charles Darwin, and it’s readily available in many good libraries. The second arose over the last 60 years from the new branch of biology, molecular genetics, that grew from the discovery of the structure of DNA and the way genes work to produce new life.

That new science ought to have exposed the error, if there had been any, in Darwin’s and Wallace’s theory of evolution. Instead, it simply produced confirmation of the theory from a wealth of new evidence–as had all the scientific discoveries in between.

Either your biology teacher is very scared of some pressure group, such as Christian fundamentalists, or the teacher is simply not competent with respect to knowledge of a fundamental aspect of biology.

  • He is talking garbage and needs to be sacked and fined for lying to a class.

  • Then your biology teacher is an idiot and shouldn’t be teaching anything, much less biology.

  • Some people’s religion forbids them to accept that evolution is an actual process. This prevents them from learning about how it works or observing the evidence.

Biological evolution can be proven easily and has. You can demonstrate it yourself, either by using artificial selection or by changing the environment for a species and observing the evolutionary changes.
