Blue eyes with gold ring around the pupil?

What is this gold ring? I have really blue eyes and the gold ring is so noticable that people comment more on that then my actual eye color.

Why is it gold, does everyone have this ring just in a different color?

What is this ring?

Sometimes you can see it, but sometimes you can’t.

I would take a picture but its really hard to focus the camera, so advice on that would be good also.

  • What you have is completely normal for your kind of genes. What is happening is your body produces compounds called melanin which in turn produce the pigments in your body which determine things like your hair color, eye color, and skin color. Since you are blonde with blue eyes you have light colored pigments which means you have a low amount of melanin in your body. As you get older your melanin compounds begin to decrease and this affects your pigments in your eyes which is causing the yellow tint in your eyes which appears gold. Don’t worry it doesn’t mean your eyes will completely change color it’s just a natural effect of aging.

  • I think it’s genetic. My eyes change color from grey to blue to green but there is always a sold gold crown around the pupil. I also have brown hair. My father doesn’t have it, but my mother does. None of my paternal cousins have it either. My maternal family is from the Netherlands, so I’ve always thought it was a Dutch thing. My brothers and sister have gold in their eyes as well but not a full ring. But I have the boldest, brightest, and most prominent as well as a full ring around my pupil. I’m also the most like my mother. From your appearance, you look Dutch, so it might be a Dutch thing…

  • Not everyone is lucky enough to have a gold ring around the pupil. Personally, I would trade the “rusty” spot in my eye (I have a spot of brown eye color in my otherwise blue eyes) for a nice gold ring. Be happy … it really sounds attractive, and I’ll bet that you can notice it more according to how you are dressed.

  • Most likely this is veing caused by a parasitic infection that has effected your eye. The exact same thing is going on with myself and thousands of Americans without any symptoms. You may also experience snow vision when looking at the sky or white background you will see little what looks like fuzz moving around or the white noise you see on a TV without a signal. Getting a doctor to agree with this, it took my 8 years to finally have a doctor believe me and agree. Acanthamoeba Keratitis in one type but I am not saying it is the exact cause.

  • There is a medical condition that says that if you have a gold ring around your pupil and around the outer border or your iris wis back and could lead to death. I have one blue eye and one green eye and also have a gold/bronze ring around my pupil and the outer part of my iris, The medical condidion is called Wilson’s Disease. The medical term is hepatolenticular degeneration. It is commonly associated with Liver Disease for the build up of copper in the tissues. It affects the Liver and Brain, causing increase in bleeding, confusion, cognative deteriation, and clumsiness or depth loss. I hope you dont have it, the chances of having it is 1 to 4 in every 100,000 people.

  • Have you had this your whole life? My eyes are the same way, it’s just the color of my eyes. My brother and sister have it too, I doubt we’re all diseased. If you haven’t had it maybe there’s some medical thing going on, ask a doctor if you’re really concerned, but I wouldn’t worry about it.

  • You’re eye color is always lightest in the very center. Because youre eyes are blue, they probably have a hint of green in them as well, and because of that the lighter part comes across golden.

  • i have that tooo!!!!!!!!!

except my eyes are blue with a green ring and i have this gold dot in them too.

i thot i was the only one.

i think its just the way our eyes are.

someone told me that its because my eyes are going to change colors when i get older.

    so maybe its that.
