My brother swears you can, where I swear you can’t. Anyone know for sure?
If your not quite sure what I’m talking about, there’s a little example here: http://s40.photobucket.com/albums/e226/x_xnevermor…
Hoyle’s rules would say that is bad form. Strictly speaking it is breaking the rules. BUT if all players agree on allowing that BEFORE the game begins then have fun with it and you do it too.
I had a group of friends I played Scrabble with and we would always agree on some quirky twist before the came began: Contractions, Urban slang, Phonetic spelling, etc. It adds a fresh angle to the game.
Spell Words Backwards
Nope, you cannot. See the official Scrabble rules at Scrabulous – http://www.scrabulous.com/scrabble_rules.php
Although you can play that word in Clabbers, which is a variation of Scrabble. That’s also there at Scrbaulous, check it out at http://www.scrabulous.com/clabbers.phpSource(s): http://www.scrabulous.com/ – The best Scrabble site!
You can download Scrabble for free here: http://bitly.com/1oh8mvL
no surveys, no scams, just the full game!
It’s my favourite game.
Hope it helps.
No – see rule 1 at: http://www.hasbro.com/scrabble/home.cfm?page=rules…
It says "to read either across or down" This is not entirely clear, but it is clarified by the examples at:
my rules don’t say but it would be fun to play a game and ONLY spell backwards.. that would really take some thinking… I want to try it..
NEVER,BY THE TIME YOU DO THAT YOU ARE GOING AGAINST THE VERY RULES OF THE GAME-INVENTING YOUR OWN RULES.
