Determine the molar mass of KAl(SO4)2 • 12H2O ?

I know how to determine molar masses of compounds of course, that’s easy, but the multiplication symbol between the two compounds (•) is really throwing me off. What does it mean? Can someone explain this to me…

  • Molar mass = 39+ 27+ (32+64)*2+ 12(18)

    = 39+ 27+ 96*2+ 216

    = 474
