does performing bharatnatyam stop or slower our growth height wise?

  • It would be impossible for it to stunt your growth. Actually because there are certain growth plates in your feet when you dance something that hits those plates you will actually trigger a groth response in your body (unless you are past the age where you have already stopped growing). This effect is often seen in runners because they hit these plates frequently while running.

  • I do bharatnatyam, and it I haven’t heard a claim like that. I think its a really good workout, and you don’t look stupid when you do it! (unlike some sports and exercises!)

  • Its nothing to stop the growth, but its helps to keep a control on your weight

  • No! I don’t think so. I have heard of something else that B.natyam dancers tend to put on weight in their later years when they stop dancing but never that they don’t grow tall in their former years. so, keep learning and be a great dancer!

  • I can’t imagine that it would.

What did you see to give you this impression?

  • NO IT DOES NOT TECHNICALY IT HELPS IN RESPIRATION AND MAKES YOU MORE ACTIVE
