Has anyone heard of a brand of kitchen knives called “Emperor Steel” and what do you know about them?

Emperor Steel is the brand of the kitchen knives, and it is made in Japan and sold in the US for household use, but what happened to the company and what was the quality of the cutlery set?

  • To actually answer the question. Emperor Knives and Cutlery is an old brand, Japanese, apparently very well made as most old brands were then. I have a set of Steak Knives past down to me by my Mother over 30 years ago. I remember using them growing up. Just the fact that they are still in good condition and when sharƿє-ṅєd are just fine and dandy for a dinner party with thick juicy steaks abounding speaks for itself. Yes, they are good knives. You can spend more if you want to but, my goodness, if it cuts the meat, what more would you want?

  • As a Chef I personally use Wusthof and Henckel. However, its best to go to a store that sells knives and “try” them out. Ask if you can hold them and feel the weight and how the handle feels in your hand. Each knife is different as is every persons hand. What feels good to me, wont necessarily feel great to you! Good luck and enjoy!!

  • Kikuichi knives is a lot better in my opinion but they are decent kniefs if you use them a lot they get dull

  1. I have An Emperor Steel Butcher knife. It has to be over 80 years old and so long as I keep it sharpened, it’s good as gold. I have a power knife sharpener and I wouldn’t get rid of this knife for (almost) anything. Kids today though have no clue to quality and my kids will probably throw it away when I die.
