How can I let go of the past?

So in short, I was in the Military, and it was an awful experience, very depressing. I get depressed every time I think about it.

I would really just like to forget about it, and do fun things today. I feel fun things would almost diminish my depression, and reduce stress.

Does anyone have any good ideas as to how I could forget about this past experience?

  • Surely you know better than we do what you would find to be fun.

    Anyway, since the military didn’t work out, I think the best way to move on is to move forward.

    Make some new plans.

    Are you in school, or are you working?

  • Well, you can do things to distract yourself but you’ll never be able to truly forget. You mention getting depressed from it, so maybe you could get medication if it’s bad. It helps to talk about how you feel with other people who can relate to how you feel as well. Having hobbies help and doing physical activities. Spending time with friends, family, and people who you know care about you can help make things better. I hope you try to have a nice day though. 🙂
