How long before the motrin kicks in?

Okay, it’s 4am and I’d really like some sleep.

I woke up at 3am with a spitting tooth ache in two teeth. One on my upper teeth and one on my lower. I thought it might just go away so I laid there until 3:50 and then I took 3 Motrin. It’s now 4:16am and the pain has not eased off at all. How long does it take for that stuff to work..should I take another one?

My dentist is only open on Wends.

Lovely, I know…

  • depends on empty stomach or full? Empty stomach it will get absorbed faster & work faster, say in 10 min but full stomach, it may take 30-45 min.

  • For an infection like this – it’s pretty deep, so it might take a couple of days before there is noticeable improvement, and a few more days after that for the swelling to completely disappear, if the antibiotics are working. If you don’t see any signs of improvement after 5-6 days, you should call the doc – some other treatment approach might be needed. Motrin is unlikely to do much for this type of swelling.

  • Don’t take more. It usually takes 45 minutes to an hour to work. Hope you feel better. Take some more in about 4-5 hours to keep the pain away. You are going to call a dentist tomorrow right?

  • 30-47 minutes. Once it kicks in, you’ll feel better and let me know, how it goes. Don’t do anymore, drink some juice or H2O. Get enough sleep!

  • For me it takes about 35 minutes . But i drink it with a glass of milk . I hope that helps .
