In Rhode Island, I-95 is about 45 miles, but the last 10-15 miles are in Providence, where speed limit is 45-55 miles, with a lot of curve.
Also you can take I-295 start south of TF Green airport, and ends in Massachusetts, to bypass Providence.
I-95 does not go to Newport and its famous bridge, Tennis hall of Fame, Mansions.
Funny thing is, I live in upstate NY. Last I knew, if I have a permit to carry concealed, I can’t carry it in New York City. So, laws vary sometimes even within your own state. Also, You can’t have a loaded weapon in your car. I’m not sure about unloaded weapons. (Gun racks in pickup trucks). Of course the best way to get your head blown off, is if you reach for your registration over that gun in your glove box (loaded or not) in view of “Ofiicer Friendly”!
I think it takes about an hour.
How fast are you going to drive?
About an hour.
It is a small state. Even if you stop and check out the towns on the way, one morning is enough.
