# How long does it take to walk 1.6 miles?

• I used to to try to walk 1.5 miles in 18 minutes and could never do it. It took me about 20, if I was walking fast. So 1.6 miles, at a brisk pace, probably 22 minutes. If you are walking at a moderate pace, probably about 30 minutes.

• If you march to a navy band march you march at 120 beats per minute. Therefore given that you may take a slightly less than 1 metre pace a kilometre would take about 9 or 10 minutes. A mile is 1.61 kilometres so you add another .61 onto the final time. I would average it out to about 14-15 minutes at a rough guess. If you take into account that you won’t be able to march at the same pace for the whole trip I think 15 minutes is not too bad.

• Because everyone’s pace is different, it may take you anywhere from 30-40 min to walk 1.6 miles. I know for a fact that I can walk 1.8 miles in 40 min when I’m by myself, but it takes me 45 min if I’m with my 7year old. I first discovered how long it takes me to walk 1 to 2 miles by walking at my own pace on a treadmill. If you have access to a gym or a treadmill, then take a walk on one and time yourself.

• I know this question is old but my thoughts. How fast someone can walk 1.6 miles depends on lots of factors. Is that person in good physical/cardio shape? Does the person walk slow, a medium pace, or fast? Is there any hills involved? I can walk 1.5 miles in 20-25 minutes because I walk fast and I am tall. Usually somewhere in the middle is my time.

To walk 1.5 miles for the average person probably between 30-40 minutes. It also depends on the factors I listed above.
