how was texas admitted to the union?

• Texas was annexed by the United States as a slave state in 1845. At the time of its absorption into the Union it was an independent republic. Mexico, however, still regarded it as a renegade province and thus the transfer of sovereignty resulted in the Mexican-American War.

• If Texas is taken over by Mexico and the people vote to Cede from the Union, then they should be allowed to peacefully do so. Georgia has been declared a sovereign state, separate from the Soviet Union. The Soviet Union is taking by force a territory they wish to keep. (there is an oil pipeline there)
