I have an old ring that is stamped 18KT HGE followed by a crown. What does it mean?

My mother gave me this ring a long time ago is has a red ruby like stone and i am confused about the metal, like my question says it’s stamped 18KT HGE followed by a crown much the same as the Rolex logo.

  • All i know is the 18KT HGE means 18kt hge means 18 karat heavy gold electroplate which means a base mental was given a heavy 18 karat gold plating.

I don’t know about the crown sign but I’m sure that if you took it to an antique shop or a jewelers they can tell you more about the ring.

    Hope this helps.

  • 18kt hge means 18 karat heavy gold electroplate — a base mental was given a heavy 18 karat gold plating. The crown stamp after that means the ring was made in a country that had a monarch as head of state, usually from Great Britain (UK).
