If f(x) = 2×2 − 30, find f(4).?

algebra 1 substitute x for 4

  • are you trying to write 2x² here?

    f(x) = 2x² - 30, x = 4

    2*(4)² - 30

    2*16 - 30

    32 - 30

    f(4) = -2

  • This is not difficult, simply plug the value into the equation:

    f(4) = 2(4)(2) - 30

    f(4) = 16 - 30

    f(4) = -14

  • 2x^2 - 30

    2(4)^2 - 30

    2*16 - 30

    32 - 30 = 2

  • f (4) = 2 (16) - 30

    f (4) = 32 - 30

    f (4) = 2

  • Do what your book said. Substitute f(x) for 4

    4 = 2x^2 - 30

    2 = x^2 - 15

    17 = x^2

    x = sqrt(17)

  • sorry but doesn't the x in your equation multiplication .. because if it does then u can't solve it for f(4)

    anyway F(x)=2x2-30 = -26

  • i could get photographs of Deaner wearing his blue tights and deliver them to his friends and kin.. then positioned them on youtube.. then positioned up a billboard close to the place he works.. then i could fairydust Nubs.. get lulu each and all the blue eyeshadow she ever needs get Sil each and all the steak he will ever desire.. and wrap my infants in bubblewrap and ultimately heal Jackpots shanking wound he have been given in detention center!!
