Is tmart.com a scam or not?

I really want to buy a few items from there but I’m not sure if its safe. Anyone ever tried it?

  • While there is no way to guarantee that you are dealing with a legit site, there are “red flags” to look for in a fake sites.

    1) Payment options, do they include Western Union, moneygram, paypal and bank transfer? Some scam sites will accept credit cards but most prefer those 4 options which are anonymous for the scammer to pick up the cash and disappear.

Western Union and moneygram do not verify anything on the form the sender fills out, not the name, not the street address, not the country, not even the gender of the receiver, it all means absolutely nothing. The clerk will not bother to check ID and will simply hand off your cash to whomever walks in the door with the MTCN# and question/answer. Neither company will tell the sender who picked up the cash, at what store location or even in what country your money walked out the door. Neither company has any kind of refund policy, money sent is money gone forever.

Paypal can only get your money back if there is money left in the scammer’s paypal-linked bank account. Scammers know this and will immediately withdrawal your money and disappear. No money in the scammer’s paypal-linked bank account means absolutely no possibility of refund for you.

Your bank can only get your money back if there is money left in the scammer’s bank account. Scammers know this and will immediately withdrawal the money you transferred. No money in the account means absolutely no possibility of you getting your hard-earned money back.

    2) Contact options, is it a free email address such as gmail, hotmail or yahoo? Is it a chat box? Scam sites will rarely list a phone number or street address.

Scammers love to create free email addresses and rarely will use a paid server. Email is easy to ignore and block and free email addresses are easy to open and close completely anonymously. Chat requests are easy to block via ip address.

    3) Shipping options, do you actually get to choose the option at check out? Fake sites will frequently say “free shipping” and “tracking numbers emailed” but, if they ship anything at all, will use the post office, cheap, slow and no account number needed.

Fake sites will frequently show icons for UPS, FedEx, DHL and TNT but then at check out will “ship” via EMS, the Chinese post office. If they send a “tracking number” good luck getting it to work on the EMS website. You will need even more luck trying to contact EMS when your tracking stops and your “package” is lost somewhere.

    4) The icons at the bottom of the page, are they just copy/pasted pictures or links to actual sites?

Fake sites will often have icons for Verisign, McAfee, Paypal and other companies at the bottom of the home page. Those should be live links to that company’s website. Fake sites can’t risk linking to real sites so they just use badly copied pictures instead.

Whenever suspicious or just plain curious, google everything, website addresses, names used, companies mentioned, phone numbers given, all email addresses, even partial sentences from the emails as you might be unpleasantly surprised at what you find already posted online. You can also post/ask here and every scam-warner-anti-fraud-busting site you can find before taking a chance and losing money to a scammer.

There are scam busting sites with online lists of the names scammers use, thier email addresses, stock copy/paste emails, paid-for-in-cash cell phone numbers, stolen pictures and fake websites they use. You could start your search at one of those sites.

  • I ordered about 30 times over the last 2 years and will continue to do so. I really like this site. Items are generally cheaper than other online store, and there is no shipping cost. Only problem that I encounter so far is stock problem. They were very helpful to solve the problem. Tmart.com is one of my suggested websites. You can try to shopping on this site. Then I think you will feel Tmart is not a scam.

  • I have ordered many times the last year from Tmart.com… Everything is no problem. The site has nice things for the price. I find items on the site fairly cheaper than other sites with the same things. They have a kind professional customer care department to make your inconvinients, if any, with your order, an excuse for you to note the positive attitude of Tmart to resolve customer’s issues. They are a good online store. So i don’t think Tmart is a scam.

  • According to my shopping experience, I don’t think Tmart is a scam. Serval days ago, I order a alarm clock projector from Tmart. It is very compact and is made from good quality plastic. It also has a very simply yet appealing design that would easily go well with any home or room design an interior. I also love that it has a touch of the color blue, which makes it a perfect match for our blue bedroom. I will continue shopping in Tmart.

  • Hi Dalia,

I haven’t tried buying anything from them but I found out these information and thought I’d share it with you. They have existed since 1998 and their domain is not due to expire until June 2013. That’s a very long domain life span, however, there seems to be more negative rather than positive feedback about them lately. Try seeing http://verify1st.com/tmart.com. It reflects as a warning when it comes to their reputation. They are popular in both the US and the Czech Republic. Apparently, most of their visitors are men who are not college graduates.

The site is US based but there are relevant information that they are also coming from Hong Kong. Try clicking the Security badges like VeriSign and McAfee found at the bottom of their homepage. Try to go over all these details and just be careful and weigh things out before you actually buy from them. Hope I was able to help you!

  • TMART IS A SCAM

Tmart scammed me also. When you look at a billboard, you can tell it’s a paid advertisement — but on Yelp or Citysearch, you assume you’re reading authentic consumer opinions, making this practice even more deceiving. Tmart.com scam and the fake positive reviews posted by Tmart.com will end soon as investigators discovered this scam and working on putting an end for it as you may read in The New York Times ( Give Yourself 5 Stars? Online, It Might Cost You)

    Http//www.nytimes.com/2013/09/23/technology/give-yourself-4-stars-online-it-might-cost-you.html?_r=0

The investigation revealed a web of deceit in which reviewers in Bangladesh, the Philippines and Eastern Europe produced, for as little as a dollar a rave, buckets of praise for places they had never seen in countries where they had never been.

As Tmart does In some cases, Tmart.com bribed their clients’ customers to write more fake reviews, giving them gift certificates for their trouble. They also went on review sites that criticized their own fake-review operations and wrote fake reviews denying they wrote fake reviews.

  • Certainly Tmart.com is a scam.

Don’t let Tmart’s employees fool you by the fake positive reviews.

I bought a tablet from Tmart for grandson’s birthday. It Had only great reviews come to find out they screen reviews if all stars not hit, they don’t post it. I had no response. After several attempts, finally one morning got live chat to tell them tablet does not charge. She said I will email you a return label for free ship back but they never did !!!! Then I spent more money to send it back then told me we credit you when we receive it , they never credited me and now disputing it with a help of my credit card !!!I think they are in China operating in USA . This is a big rip off!!!

  • It’ never simple protecting a task that works optimal for you, let alone an online task. With all the different types of online tasks available, you need to be extremely conscious of which one you choose. Like other work from house jobs, if you pick one that’ not an actually good fit, then it will cost you a great deal of effort and time. You may, ultimately end up having to “attempt once more” and try to find another job however this is not the case with the paid studies.

The more useful approach for someone seeking to get cash quickly and easily is to participate in online paid studies here https://tr.im/L5tun where you will never say “try once again” after you will see how easy you can earn money, excellent cash without having specially qualities– you just are paid to state what you thinking of some things.

Generate income with the surveys from this website will result to be the best choice that you made in your life because you will make money simply for stating your opinion and all this, from the convenience of your house.

  • Received tmart items a few days ago and love with it!!! As the name states, Shipping took a while, a little over 3 weeks, but at this price, it was well worth the wait!!

so i think it is not a scam

  • Well, I have ordered many things from TMart. All of which were small items. I ordered some tattoo supplies for about 30.00, then some phone cases for about 20.00. I ordered about 5 different orders over a 3 month span. 2 orders out of those we’re “lost”. When I asked for tracking, they told me that there was no tracking because it has free shipping. I used their online chat. The next person gave me shipping and said it was shipped through FedEx. I contacted FedEx. There was no such tracking and no such package.

This is a conversation I had with them about a 65.00 tablet I ordered for my son.
