Is transmogulate a real word?

  • No, it’s a made-up word that doesn’t mean anything.

    Maybe you’re thinking of "transmodulate."

That’s what a transmodulator does when it takes a broadband signal from a first modulation scheme to a second modulation scheme in order to reduce the bandwidth.

A trans-modulator is also a component of the transmission in some cars.
