I’ve lost the remote to my old Sansui TV, how can I change the input (IE Video 1 and Video 2) without it?

I want to be able to use my TV with my DVD player and game console, but without the remote I don’t seem to be able to change the input. It’s not below channel 2, and there is no button on the TV to swap inputs. I’d rather not buy a universal remote…is there a way to switch without one?

My Sansui TV is a model with no input button on the front, no manual way to switch the inputs in button form without the remote. The only options in the menu (brought up with the two channel buttons depressed at once) is the ability to switch between “TV” (ie, internal antenna for local channels) and “CATV” or the coax cable input on the back. Is there a way to switch to either of the video inputs that I’m missing, or is it impossible without the remote?

  • This works on some t.v’s, try pushing the two volume buttons on the tv at the same time. If it works it will bring up the menu, then you can change the input.

  • You should be able to just use the channel buttons on the TV itself. Go lower than 1 and it should go to video 1 or 2 ect. If this doesn’t work there should be a menu button on there too. You use the channel buttons and volume buttons to move the cursor once you get into the menu. Good luck.

  • I bought a universal remote for my sansui tv, but how do I set the video on channel to play my dvd?

  • How can I navigate the TV’s menu options without the factory remote? I have no sound and unable to get any further than arrowing down to “Audio” with he very limited buttons on the front of the tv.

  • Today’s cheap replacement remotes, have input selection and even menu and sleep, all the features you need. they are cheap too. I just got a 2 pack from wal mart and it was 19.00. they work great on everything. Im so happy because I dropped a old curtus mathus one in my jacuzzi, and they wanted 80 bux for a new one, wadda bing wadda boom, this universal did the trick! LIFE IS GOOD!

  • I ve lost the remote on my on my Sansui TV, how do I change the picture quality, i.e., the brightness?

  • Watching tv is easier but I love reading literature more

  • while reading a written booklet, you’re stimulating your brain. You better your literacy and reading skills and you also in the process, are more literate. Even with today’s modern technology, you nevertheless still need to have the ability to read.

While you’re watching t.v. can be good fun, it isn’t doing anything to your brain.
