C) Compact bone.
Compact bones are also known as dense bones, as the matrix of these bones are densely packed with inorganic salts and ground substance with osteocytes prent in lacunae. These bones have central canal, called harvesian canal are richly supplied with nerves and blood vessels,At maturity, Compact bones have osteons arranged in concentric rings that provide support to the bone. These bones are present in parts like thigh and are able to tolerate sresses that arrive many direction
The bone density is reduced and allows the end of bones to compress when stress is applied
The type of bone that is adapted to withstand stresses that arrive from many directions is spongy bone.
Spongy bone or cancellous bone is the bone that is a bone tissue found in our body. The spongy bone is also called as trabecular bone. It is surrounded by a shell of compact bone. It is found in ribs, skull, vertebrae and next to the long bone .
It is spongy and light in weight which balances the denser and heavy bone. The open structure of the spongy bone helps it to take the stresses. Due to its flexibility it is able to take up the sudden stress rendered.
