The reason of the military hours is so you don’t get mixed up with whether your commander means AM or PM.

• It is 4:30PM, military time is a 24 hour clock. Most of us use the 12 hour clock, so the best way to figure it out is if it’s more than 12, subtract 12 from it. Like if it says 18:00 it means 6pm.

• Wow, it’s 4:30 PM. Is a 24 hour clock so difficult to understand? I would have thought that anyone who could type, could subtract 12!

• Yes it does. Simply count beyond 12 up to 24 1:00 pm = 1300 2:00 pm – 1400 And so on…

• real hours? using the 24 hour clock is “real” because you don’t have to worry about am/pm and if someone tells you 4 oclock you don’t have to wonder if it’s 4 in the morning or 4 in the afternoon. But FedEx will be there before 4:30pm your time.

• 1630 is regular hours. I don’t understand how people can use civilian time. I use the 24 hour clock for everything and so does my 5 year old!

It’s 430 PM

• 1630 Military Time

• 4:30 P.M.

• thats just to avoid miscommunication………….. over the radio on paper……………. Military needs concrete time with no mistakes……………Mistakes mean lives
