  • Military Occupational Specialty (otherwise known as enlisted jobs). Some cool ones are 68p (radiology technician) who can have a sub specialty in nuclear medicine… makes about $65,000 a year in the civilian world plus you can get a degree (they offer both associates and bachelor’s) for it from the Thomas Edison College. Another good one is 68x (mental health specialist) you can do a specialty for drug abuse counselor and make around $100,000 in the civilian world… and get a degree, not too shabby. My husband knows a drug abuse counselor in Tulsa who makes $120,000 a year… that is why he is choosing that MOS so he will have something to fall back on if he ever needs to separate from the Army… by the way those were all Army MOS codes… not to certain on the other branches that use MOS (I believe the marines or the navy might use MOS but the Air Force uses AFSC’s (Air Force Specialty Code) for their enlisted jobs.
