200 ... the general rule if it s a five is to check the preceding number. if it s even then round down if odd then round up. What s the logic here? Suppose the number is 2.45 and you rounded it to tenth. without this rule, it becomes 2.5 which becomes 3 when you round it again to whole number. that s why we have this rule.

300 because in every rounding scenario 5 and up you round up and 4 or lower you round down.
Example: 75 is rounded to 80 because there's a 5. 77 is rounded to 80 cause the 7 is higher than 5.
74 rounds to 70 because 4 is below 5. So same concept is here 250 (the 50 counts as the 5+ rule) so it's rounded to 300. If it was 240 it would round down to 200 when rounded to the nearest hundred.
