Differential reproduction  refers to organisms with best alteration which are more likely to survive. Thus, individuals who inherit features most fit for their environment are expected to leave more descendants than less fit individuals. As a result, adaptations become more recurrent through inheritance, so the fittest creatures have the genes to survive and reproduce.
