The product of the prime factors of any number is the number itself. Take, for example, the number 36. It’s prime factors are 2, 2, 3 and 3. 2x2x3x3 (the product) =36.
If we are talking about UNIQUE prime factors, there is no general solution. But you gave me an idea, and I am working on whether that has an application or not. If it does, I’ll re-respond.
EDIT: Sorry, I didn’t address your specific example.
The prime factors of 296? It is divisibe by two (because it is an even number). So we have 2 x 148. 148 is also divisible by two, because it is also even. So we have 2 x 2 x 74. 74 is likewise even, so we have 2x2x2x37.
37 is prime. So the prime factorization of 296 is 2x2x2x37. If you multiply those prime factors together (2x2x2x37), you get 296.
