Why are quest bars so expensive?

Is it because their amazing taste and nutrition profile is so desirable for athletes and dieters?

or are they really that expensive to make?

or both? or capitalism..?

I love them.

But when i'm at the checkout and see how much a small amount of bars rings up, I feel like a total idiot spending so much on these bars... even at $2.08 per bar which is the cheapest price online. So I stopped buying them. Anyone feel the same way?

  • Because people will still buy them.

One of the rules of economics is to charge as much as the market will bare.

    This is Capitalism.

  • no they are not made with processed fast food powder they are made with whey protein isolate, an milk protein isolate otherwise known as casein it is a very "clean" protein bar even a few flavors have stevia not sucralose and even then the amounts are at the end of the ingredient list you make it sound like eating a quest bar is equivlent to a big mac so not the case.

Maybe the taste, but nutrition wise... Real food is better. (Protein in quest bar is made with processed fast-food powder)
